A facelift is not about chasing youth — it is about looking like a rested, refreshed version of yourself. As the deeper facial tissues (the SMAS layer) and the neck lose their support, jowls form, the jawline blurs, and the neck softens. Mr. Khalil uses advanced SMAS and deep-plane techniques that reposition these deeper layers rather than simply pulling the skin, which is what produces a natural, long-lasting result without the tight, wind-blown look of older surgery. A neck lift is routinely included to keep the result balanced.
A facelift suits adults — most commonly from their late forties onwards — who are troubled by sagging jowls, a loss of definition along the jawline, deep folds around the mouth, and loosening of the neck. Good candidates are in good general health, are non-smokers or willing to stop, have reasonable skin elasticity, and want a natural rejuvenation rather than a dramatic change of appearance. Those with earlier, more limited ageing may be suited to a less extensive "mini" facelift, which Mr. Khalil will discuss where appropriate.
Surgery is performed under general anaesthetic or sedation and typically takes three to four hours. Through incisions carefully placed around the ear and hairline, Mr. Khalil lifts and repositions the deeper SMAS and neck tissues, redrapes the skin without tension, and refines the jawline and neck. Because the support comes from the deep layer rather than the skin, the result looks natural and lasts. A neck lift is usually incorporated so the face and neck rejuvenate together in one procedure.
A facelift needs a little more recovery time than facial procedures higher up. Expect noticeable swelling and bruising in the first one to two weeks, with most people ready to face the world socially at around three to four weeks. A supportive dressing is worn early on, and you should avoid strenuous exercise for about six weeks. Some tightness and numbness are normal and settle over the following months, as the result continues to soften into its natural final appearance.
Natural. By repositioning the deep SMAS and neck tissues rather than pulling the skin tight, Mr. Khalil avoids the over-stretched look and restores a rested version of your own face.
Yes. A neck lift is usually performed as part of the same procedure so the jawline and neck rejuvenate in balance with the rest of the face.
A well-performed deep-plane or SMAS facelift lasts many years. Ageing continues naturally, but you will always look younger than had you not had the surgery.
A mini facelift addresses earlier, more limited jowl and jawline laxity through smaller incisions, while a full facelift treats more advanced ageing of the face and neck. Your consultation determines which suits you.
