Even with a disciplined diet and regular exercise, some pockets of fat simply refuse to shift — around the abdomen and flanks, the thighs, the arms, the back, or under the chin. Liposuction removes these stubborn, localised deposits to reveal smoother, more sculpted contours. It is a body-shaping procedure rather than a weight-loss method, and Mr. Khalil uses precise, contour-focused techniques — including VASER ultrasound-assisted liposuction — to refine the shape while protecting the surrounding tissue.
Liposuction suits adults who are close to a stable, healthy weight but have disproportionate fat deposits in specific areas that resist diet and exercise. It works best where the overlying skin has good elasticity, so it can retract smoothly over the new contour. It is not a treatment for general weight loss or obesity. Good candidates are in good health, non-smokers or willing to stop, and understand that maintaining the result depends on a stable weight and healthy lifestyle afterwards.
Depending on the number and size of areas treated, liposuction is performed under general or local anaesthetic and takes one to three hours. Through tiny incisions, a fluid is infiltrated to reduce bruising, and fine cannulas are used to loosen and gently suction away the targeted fat. VASER ultrasound energy can be used to emulsify fat first, allowing more refined sculpting in delicate or fibrous areas. The incisions are so small they rarely leave a noticeable mark.
Most people return to everyday activities within one to two weeks. A supportive compression garment is worn for several weeks to control swelling and help the skin settle to its new shape. Bruising and swelling are normal early on and resolve over the following weeks, with the final contour becoming clear over one to three months as the last of the swelling fades. Strenuous exercise is reintroduced gradually with Mr. Khalil's guidance.
No. Liposuction reshapes specific areas of stubborn fat; it is not a weight-loss procedure. It works best for people near a stable, healthy weight who want to refine their contour.
The fat cells removed do not return, and results are long-lasting provided your weight stays stable. Significant weight gain afterwards can still enlarge remaining fat cells elsewhere.
VASER uses ultrasound energy to gently emulsify fat before removal, allowing more precise sculpting — particularly useful in fibrous or detailed areas — while helping protect surrounding tissue.
Yes. It is frequently combined with a tummy tuck or body-contouring surgery to enhance the overall result, which Mr. Khalil will plan with you at consultation.
